Even with the wind and the rain, we’re open.
Daily from 1–5 PM, with special hours on Saturday, March 21, 9 AM–6 PM.
We’re still finalizing plans for our Spring Celebration, and we’ll share details as they settle. On blustery days, you’ll find us set up on the front porch—come on up, we’re always glad for company and happy to show you what we’ve been tending.
This week we finished transplanting the first round of brassicas into the garden and tucked them under row cover to shield them from the heavy downpours and strong winds. They had a few days of sunshine and open air before the gusts returned, just enough time to breathe and stretch. We’re especially delighted to have two full rows of asparagus planted. Asparagus is a long game—plant it once, care for it well, and it feeds you for years. We’ve given it a prime spot in the center of one of our plots where it can spread and settle in. If all goes well, we’ll be harvesting our first spears in 2028.

We also set all the greenhouse plants out on the back deck for a few days. It’s always remarkable what a little sun and wind can do—everything came back bigger, greener, and more alive. They’re tucked back into the greenhouse now while we ride out a stretch of 30–45 mph gusts. Once things calm down after Tuesday (March 17), we’ll let them breathe again.
The strawflowers have officially left the “seedling” stage behind. A few days outdoors and they surged forward. We planted some in large pots by the farm sign at the road and a few more in smaller pots on the front porch. The rest will go into dedicated beds once nighttime temperatures stay above 30. It may feel like spring is close, but Kentucky still has a few cold nights left in her.

Our last open day for this round is Sunday, March 22.
You can find the full 2026 schedule here.
We’ll also be at the Nicholasville Farmers Market on Saturdays beginning April 25, 9 AM–1 PM, at 210 E Walnut St, right across from the Jessamine County Health Department. We’ll keep our What We’re Growing & Crafting page updated with what we’ll have each week.
Spring is gathering itself. Slowly, then suddenly.
