We’re just a couple of days away from our first opening of 2026. We cleaned up some brush around the driveway entrance and installed a new sign for the occasion.

March 6–22, 1–5 PM daily. Check out the Plan Your Visit section for more information.

And we’re still shaping plans for our Spring Celebration on Saturday, March 21, 9 AM–6 PM. As details settle, we’ll pass them along. If you’re planning to stop by, we’d love to know—send us a quick note or message. And if this round doesn’t fit your schedule, the full 2026 calendar is posted for whenever the season brings you our way.

This week brought a fresh round of transplanting: blue cabbage, kale, another cauliflower variety, and a handful of herbs—sage and yarrow among them. Several trays surprised us with new sprouts: German chamomile, snapdragons, dwarf phlox, calendula, rhubarb, and stevia. If everything holds, we may finally have the beginnings of a real herb garden this year. We’re hopeful.

The strawflowers decided to wake up all at once. They’ve been a bright little eruption in the greenhouse, and now we’re figuring out what comes next for them. We’ll have some available for sale if you’d like to take one home.

Out in the garden, we planted the first round of brassicas and tucked them under row cover—our small insurance policy against the late-winter moods that Kentucky is famous for. Our last frost date is late April, but we don’t fully exhale until mid-May. The soil is still heavy with early-spring moisture, but it turned easily with the broad fork, and the earthworms were plentiful. Always a good sign.

Our list of offerings for Opening Day is now complete, and we’ll keep it updated as the season unfolds. It’s early yet, so quantities are limited, but we’ll have a mix of vegetables, herbs, teas, flowers, arts and crafts, and baked and canned goods. You can find the full list on the site.

Little by little, we’re continuing to learn our way around the website—adding new pieces, refining others, and trying to make it a welcoming place to land. If you take a look, we’d love to hear what feels clear and what could be better.

Spring is stirring.
